Bad Cover Songs
December 2008’s cover song event has been one of my biggest challenges as an artist. In the past year I have added vocals to my performance. The last time I sang and played simultaneously was at the age of 14. The addition of vocals has added a new level of difficulty to my performance. Upon picking up the slide I felt that something was missing. After 6 months of playing the slide on my podcast, I added vocals. In the end I felt vocals were a necessary addition because the slide felt empty without them.
I selected most of the cover songs including a few requests. Unlike my normal podcasts these were all recorded on real recording equipment. This was a very fun project, I might even do it again next year. In the end I learned I am a huge sucker for love songs and I totally can’t sing falsetto.
